Cllr Jacqui Gracey has a bold plan to deliver a multi-million pound investment in New Haw, improving local housing and community facilities to benefit all residents.
The local mum has been the voice of our community for eight years and serves as Chairman of the Council's Housing Committee.
Jacqui, who is seeking your vote at the local elections on 4 May, says: "Much of the local social housing stock is post-war 'pre-fab' that cannot meet modern standards so must be upgraded. Given the number of these properties I have been advocating for a project that can also deliver wider community benefits.
"I am delighted to have secured crossparty support for my proposals and that this project is now underway. "We need to be ambitious, and I have been pressing for investment in community facilities, removal of the electricity pylons by transferring the cables underground, more options for green and active travel, as well as improved, energy efficient housing."
Jacqui's proudest achievements as New Haw's local Councillor include establishing a large team of volunteers during the pandemic.
She explains: "We've got such an amazing community, we had more volunteers than people asking for help. I am incredibly proud to represent New Haw and play my part to protect and enhance our community."
