Harrison Allman-Varty will bring a youthful energy and can-do attitude to tackling issues in Oatlands and Burwood Park if elected as a councillor for the ward.
The former Claremont Fan Court School pupil, who lives in Burwood Park, and works as a sales executive in London, was the choice of local party members to be their Conservative candidate at a selection earlier this year.
If elected to Elmbridge Council in May, he will work closely with existing ward councillors Ananya Bannerjee and Hilary Butler to represent Oatlands and Burwood Park residents. His priorities will include supporting local businesses by opposing Residents Association and Liberal Democrat parking increases and putting in place Local Plan to protect the area from over development.
Harrison said: "Being a councillor should be about community and how I as an individual can positively contribute to the sustainability and success of the local area. This isn't something new to me, before Covid I was a volunteer at the Cobham community centre helping and providing support for those with severe learning disabilities.
"I am employed in the City as a sales account executive where my job is to build connections with those in the public sector to sell IT solutions and technological goods. I believe my people skills will be of value and I am looking forward to meeting and speaking with residents during the campaign."
