Vanda Cunningham, our New Haw candidate, loves her community and is proud to be raising her young family locally.
She has been active on behalf of New Haw since moving there 11 years ago and has been chair of The Grange School PTA as well as involved with scouting and the annual Christmas lights.
Vanda is a carer and former ante/postnatal practitioner, demonstrating that she has a passion for helping others.
She says, "If elected I wish to support our fantastic residents and voluntary groups to build on our successes and bring our community even closer together, supporting services, especially for vulnerable residents, tackle climate issues and make New Haw greener."
Vanda's top three commitments are: 1) building a brighter future; 2) helping families with the cost of living; 3) tackling anti-social behaviour.
If elected she will be following in the footsteps of the late Conservative councillor Mark Maddox who was a much loved local champion for New Haw. Vanda is determined to continue Mark's good work.
Cllr Jacqui Gracey comments, "Vanda is a kind and caring community volunteer who will be a great councillor for New Haw. She is committed to making our area the best it can be for her family and yours."
