Rania Elzeiny aims to follow in the footsteps of her NHS nurse mum by serving her community.
She has put herself forward to be a Runnymede councillor for Englefield Green East at the local elections on Thursday 5 May and has planning, parking and residents' wellbeing as her key priorities.
Rania says, "As the daughter of an NHS nurse and a small business owner, community spirit is in my blood. I will strive to promote and support the health and well-being of the residents of Englefield Green. I will also fight to protect our local communities, ensuring residents and businesses, large and small, feel listened to and supported to be the best and most successful they can be."
If elected to the Council, Rania will work with residents to shape the Neighbourhood Plan that is in formation to ensure that local development is sympathetic to the area and appropriate, including by protect precious green spaces.
She will work with Englefield Green County Councillor Marisa Heath to tackle parking stress and advance the roll out of electric buses, while also improving walking and cycling routes.
Rania will maintain good relations between Royal Holloway and the wider community by leading litter picks and community outreach projects.
