Runnymede & Weybridge Conservative Association extends our warmest congratulations to June Seager who has received a letter from Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister, thanking her for 47 years of service to the Conservative Party.
June who is pictured with our local MP Dr Ben Spencer, has been an active member of the party since 1974 when she joined her local Conservative branch in Basingstoke.
She moved to Walton in 1984 and joined the Chertsey and Walton Conservative Association (as it was then known) and became constituency chairman until 1994. During this period, Sir Geoffrey Pattie was the Conservative MP for Walton and Chertsey until 1997 when he retired.
In 1997, the new Runnymede and Weybridge constituency was formed with Philip Hammond as the candidate. June was actively involved in his successful campaign and was part of the leadership team in the Association.
She became chairman of the RWCA and when, in 2001, it was awarded the Conservative constituency of the year, June received the trophy at the party conference.
Later June restarted the St. George’s Hill Branch and served as its chairman for several years helping to elect candidates.
June has also been chairman of the South East Area of the European Union of Women in 2002-2003 as well as the deputy chairman of the Conservative Women's Organisation as well as helping with her local foodbank.
Congratulations June on 47 years of distinguished service!
